The Bug
If you just upgraded your iPhone or iPad to iOS 9, you will encounter this error message when you first try connecting in the ExpressVPN app:
Don't worry! We'll show you how to fix it now. 🙂
The Fix
In the ExpressVPN app, tap the question mark (?) to enter the app's settings menu
Under SETTINGS, tap Reinstall connection profile.
You will see this "Install Settings" message. Tap Ok.
You will see the following message: '“ExpressVPN” Would Like to Add VPN Configurations.' Tap Allow.
If your device is protected with a passcode or Touch ID, you will be taken into your device’s VPN settings. To add the VPN configuration, use your Touch ID fingerprint or enter your passcode.
If your device is not protected with a passcode or Touch ID, skip to the next step.
In the main menu of the ExpressVPN app, tap Connect.
You will see an error message that says, "No VPN Profile found." This is a bug. Just tap OK.
Now tap Connect again.
You are now connected to the VPN server. Awesome!
We hope this blog post has been helpful for you, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the bug.
Safe and happy browsing! 😀

No difference with your bug fix. VPN works fine, but auto connects to New York. No way to change it. When you click location......location appears in top left hand corner with no option to be able to change from New York.....I'm missing my favorite shows from Uk this evening Hurry up!!!!!!!!!
Hi, Chris. So sorry about this! We're working as swiftly as we can to get the app update out. In the meantime, you can set up your iOS device with our Express Manual Configuration. It's super easy and the tutorial is here: https://blog.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-ios-with-express-manual-setup-l2tp/ Hope this helps... exact same thing. I want to connect to the U.S. and will only let me connect to the UK. I'm 4 days into my 30 days with money back guarantee and I am not at all impressed. I've had a glitch every single day. And, now I can't get my iPad to work with the VPN at all. Having a link to the UK does not allow me to do anything, not my banking, not personal business, not even watch television. It has sucked 90 minutes of my time trying to fix, talking to someone on chat who was an utter waste of my time and provided no help. Unless this is fixed in the next day or so, I'm taking my business elsewhere.
Hi, Jen. We hear you loud and clear. We're sorry you've been having issues, and we're sorry we weren't able to help you on the chat. Not sure if you've been advised to try this out already, but you could try setting up your iPad with our Express Manual Configuration. Here's a step-by-step tutorial that should take you no longer than 5 minutes to go through: https://blog.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-ios-with-express-manual-setup-l2tp/ Once you've set it up, you should be able to access our server cluster in the United Kingdom and keep going about your daily business. Again, we sincerely apologize for the trouble you've been having, and I hope this helps.
I should add that using our Express Manual Setup means you'd be connecting/disconnecting from our VPN servers via your iPad's settings rather than via the ExpressVPN app. We know this isn't ideal, but it's a way to stay connected while we get our app update into the App Store.
Hi, Jen. Just wanted to let you know that ExpressVPN v4.6 is now in the App Store, and it works with the iPad. Sorry for the trouble, and thank you very much for your patience.

Hi, Gerald, the app should work for iOS 8. What do we think about VPN services? We think our VPN service is awesome! We have a suite of user-friendly apps for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS, along with manual configurations for routers, gaming consoles, Apple TV, and so on. We have server connections all over the world. Best of all, our customer support team is superb. That website is certainly helpful for research.
Great, thanks. it works perfectly after your bug fix solution. Crisis averted!!!

Hi, Frances. Let's get this working for you. It sounds like you might be using an iPad. We know there is a bug in our iPad app, so here is our temporary workaround solution. Since the app is not working properly, I suggest you try setting up your iPad with our Express Manual Configuration. Setup is very easy and should take you no longer than 5 minutes to do. Using our Express Manual Setup means you’d be connecting/disconnecting from our VPN servers via your iPad’s settings rather than via the ExpressVPN app. We know this isn’t ideal, but it’s a way to stay connected while we get our app update into the App Store. Once you’ve set up the VPN configuration on your phone, you should be able to access our server clusters in the United States and watch the shows you want to watch. Sorry for the trouble. I hope this helps. Please contact us on Live Chat on our website if you run into any more trouble!

Hi, Brayan. Sorry you are experiencing issues. Unfortunately we do not currently have manual configurations available for Colombia or Mexico. Hi There, I have been using ExpressVPN across ipad, iphone and mac. I am getting the following message in my mac: Check with the developer to make sure ExpressVPN works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple. The app does not even open, so I cannot do anything to fix it. Can you please advise? Many thanks. E

Hi, I am using ExpressVPN on my iPhone. Since iOS 9, I've downloaded the new version of the App and it connects fine. However, after 5 to 20 minutes, the VPN disconnects automatically. Is it normal ? In the previous iOS and App, I did not have this problem... Looking forward to hearing from you, Guillaume.
